On Sunday, a Greenfield Police Officer was attacked by a man, during a traffic stop violation.  It started after a Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputy came in contact with Natividad Chavez who was on a bicycle in the area of Elm Avenue and 12th Street in Greenfield.  Chavez ran from the deputy, but more deputies and officers were called for backup.  They caught up to Chavez at his home and as they took him into custody, family members of Chavez came out and one of them jumped on the back of the Greenfield Officer.  The Officer fell to the ground and was injured. Thankfully, the Greenfield Officer’s injury were not life threatening.  Natividad Chavez was arrested for delaying and obstructing a peace officer and battery on a peace officer with serious injury. Rosalva Chavez was arrested for delaying and obstructing a peace officer, battery on a peace officer with serious injury, and probation violation.  The teenager was arrested for delaying and obstructing a peace officer and battery on a peace officer with serious injury and booked a Juvenile Hall.
